Meet Our Team

Matthew Berdy

Matthew joined SolvChem in October 2023 as the Vice President of Distribution & International Sales. He brings more than 25 years of industry experience to this position, having held a variety of commercial and leadership roles over the course of his career. He has worked in both manufacturing and distribution, operating in the US and throughout the world. Matthew holds bachelor degrees in both Chemistry and Physics from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Matthew was born in New Jersey and grew up on the East Coast. He is a fitness enthusiast and has a passion for traveling to different parts of the world, trying exotic foods. He also enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, and spending any spare time with his daughter.

Kelly Shearer

Kelly joined SolvChem in November 2014 as an Account Manager. Kelly is responsible for maintaining and growing sales in the Greater Houston Area and Golden Triangle. Prior to working at SolvChem, Kelly was an Oil and Gas Headhunter.

Before his time in recruitment, Kelly played professional baseball for the Los Angeles Angels organization. Kelly graduated from the University of Houston-Victoria with a degree in Finance.

When not working, Kelly enjoys spending time with his wife Drue and two kids Stevie and Cru.

Stacey Young

Stacey joined SolvChem in 2006. Prior to SolvChem, Stacey’s experience has brought years of sales, administration and management. She is responsible for maintaining and growing partnerships with her customers in order to provide quality products and services.

In her spare time, Stacey loves to travel with her husband, Joe, to see new places and to visit their combined families of 13 children and 5 grandchildren. She also loves reading and volunteering with her church. Her purpose is to serve others with respect and kindness.

Thad Fine

Thad joined SolvChem in the fall of 2022 as an Account Manager for the Houston area.  He brings 17+ years’ experience in the solvents & chemicals industry.  Before SolvChem, Thad used his talents in other areas such as a financial advisor, textile sales, and retail communications industries.  Thad holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY.  

Thad was born in Michigan, lived in Illinois, North Carolina and Kentucky, then to Texas as quickly as he could.  Thad has a lovely girlfriend, Anna Marie, and they like to spend their leisure time going to concerts, church, traveling and eating out at diverse cuisine restaurants.  He also is very active in charities:  USO, HCRP block walk, volunteer poll watcher and Houston Civil War Round Table.   Thad likes to play golf and tennis.

Elijah Johns

Elijah joined SolvChem in April 2023 as an Account Manager.  He is responsible for developing and growing sales in the Dallas and Fort Worth region. He began his professional career with AT&T as a Sales Executive in the Manufacturing Division.

Elijah graduated from Texas A&M with a B.S.  in Industrial Distribution with a minor in Business Administration from the College of Engineering.  During his time at Texas A&M, he served as Vice-President of The Professional Association for Industrial Distribution. 

Elijah was raised in San Antonio, Texas and currently resides in Dallas. Outside of work, he enjoys all aspects of fitness, traveling and spending time with friends and family. 

Jaime RicoPerez

Jaime joined SolvChem in April 2024 as an inside sales specialist. He is responsible for developing and growing sales along with customer relations. Beginning his professional career with Verizon as a Business Inside Sales Representative.

Jaime graduated with a B.S. in Business administration with a minor Spanish from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Jaime was born in Mexico and raised in Texas, he now resides in Houston. Off the clock, he spends his time traveling, training muay thai and golfing.

Mathew Moss

Mathew joined SolvChem in September 2024 as the General Manager over sales in North Texas and the Midlothian facility. He brings over 23 years of sales and sales management experience to his new role, having held positions in customer service, inside and outside sales and sales management.

Mathew also has a background in logistics, operations and inventory control, having held positions as a delivery driver, shipping coordinator, dispatcher and inventory control specialist earlier in his career. He has worked in both manufacturing and distribution for over 32 years and holds a B.S. in Industrial Technology with a minor in Business Administration from Tarleton State University.

In his spare time Mathew enjoys traveling with his wife Lisa and spending time with his family and friends.
